岸 玄昌
Gensuke Kishi is a Japan-born designer based in Rennes, France.
After working at the interior design office in Tokyo, he developed his practice across Europe, including Amsterdam and London.
His work focuses on the presence of objects — how material, weight, and irregularity shape the atmosphere of a space and influence perception. Rather than delivering fixed meanings, his designs create conditions for open interpretation between object and environment.
He works across Europe, Asia, and North America, collaborating with local industries and craft traditions. His pieces are presented internationally, including at institutions such as the MoMA Design Store, M+ Museum, and Japan House London.
Gensuke Kishiは、日本生まれでフランス・レンヌを拠点に活動するデザイナーである。
東京のインテリアデザインオフィスでの実務経験を経て、アムステルダムやロンドンなどヨーロッパ各地で活動を展開してきた。
彼の作品は「オブジェクトの存在」に焦点を当てており、素材や重さ、不均質さが空間をどのように形づくり、知覚に影響を与えるかを探求している。固定された意味を提示するのではなく、物と環境のあいだに解釈の余白を生み出すことを重視している。
現在はヨーロッパ、アジア、北米を中心に活動し、各地の産業やクラフトと協働している。作品は国際的に発表されており、ニューヨーク近代美術館（MoMA）デザインストア、香港のM+ミュージアム、ロンドンのジャパン・ハウスなどで取り扱われている。
